Therefore, the job of a music director is one of the most important ones on a film set. Music, in many cases, makes or breaks a Bollywood
film. Especially in big budget, masala entertainers, good music is paramount. Many a times, a great or catchy tune, an interesting item song, a party track or a multi-starrer ensemble cast song is what draws audiences to theaters.


Bollywood’s music directors outdid themselves this year, quite
literally, to create chartbusters. At the same time, there were music
directors who attempted to push the envelope, and try something
different. Films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Lootera, Aashiqui 2 and so many others, will be remembered years down the line as much for their music, as for their stellar story and wondrous performances
