20 Years Old Women Gang Raped as Punishment in Birbhum District, West Bengal

A twenty year old woman was intently gang raped by atleast a dozen of men in West Bengal's Birbhum District on the instruction of a Middle age style village "court" which concluded to punish this women for her relationship with a man from other community. When they informed that they could not pay the amount, Headman ordered the gang rape.

Then this 20years old women family left secretive from Subalpur Village on Wednesday to file a FIR and admit her in a hospital.

We already have reservations about whether Apple’s possible iPhone 4 relaunch in India is a sound strategy, but it looks like the company is going ahead with it. One thing has changed since the last time we heard about Apple’s plan for India. Reports today suggest the company will launch the phone at around Rs 23,000 and not at Rs 15,000 as was previously speculated. If that indeed is the final price, then we can safely say Apple is trying to pull one over Indian consumers with the relaunch.

TechCrunch reports its sources as saying that the Rs 15,000 price tag was never possible and Apple wouldn’t sell phones that cheap. Instead it will have the phone priced at Rs 22,000 and throw in some buyback schemes too. The report also says Apple India is preparing to celebrate passing $1 billion in annual revenue for the first time, this year.

In addition, BGR India is reporting based on information from its sources that the price would be Rs 22,900. While neither report has been confirmed by Apple, if this indeed is the right price range, then Apple is in deeper waters than it thinks.

For one, Apple is looking at a possible relaunch to bolster sales that slowed over the past quarter. Last time around, we looked at how there’s quite literally nothing going for the iPhone 4 against the present competition, but then we were thinking of it being sold in the Rs 15,000 range. But in the Rs 22,000-23,000 territory, it’s a whole new ball game, to borrow an American phrase. The iPhone 4 is significantly underpowered in comparison to the competition in this category. Consider this: a four-generation old iPhone that runs a stripped-down version of iOS 7 going up against 2014 smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, the Nokia Lumia 1320 and the Lenovo Vibe X.

However, Apple is firmly of the opinion that this will pay off, because the buyback schemes offered in the past have worked well for them and they are hoping for the same with the offers for the iPhone 4. While the company is yet to make the price official, if these reports accurately convey the mood at Cupertino, Apple is feeling a little too bullish.

Handset maker Lava International on Friday launched its latest android smartphone,  Lava Iris

405+, priced at at Rs 6,999. The device is an upgraded version of the Lava Iris 405.

The four-inch smartphone is equipped with a 1.3 GHz dual core processor and Android Jelly Bean OS. The device has a metal finishing on the front cover and a back finishing, which gives the feeling of a scratch less back cover.

The company claims Iris 405+ is one of the very few products in this price range that are this slim (9.0 mm) and have a premium finishing.

The Lava Iris 405+ has LCD WVGA display and is backed by 512 MB of RAM. It packs 4GB of internal storage and supports a microSD card of up to 32 GB. It comes with a 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The device also sports a 5-MP rear camera with 720p HD video recording and flash, and a 0.3-MP front camera. Connectivity options on the Lava Iris 405+ include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.The handsets are available for sale across all national retail stores, multi-brand outlets across India and leading online stores.

The most successful F1 racer in history is in a medically induced coma in hospital in Grenoble, after a skiing accident in the French Alps.

Schumacher, who turns 45 on Friday, remains in a stable but critical condition, his manager said earlier.

The German had been skiing off-piste when he fell and hit his head on Sunday. His helmet cracked on impact after hitting a rock.

Doctors confirmed on Tuesday that Schumacher had shown signs of improvement, but was still "not out of danger".

They ruled out giving a prognosis for his condition in the coming days and months.

But it is medically possible for someone to spend several weeks in an induced coma and fully recover from it.

'Silent' birthday vigil
International messages of support have been pouring in for the popular race driver.

Schumacher's family thanked "people from all around the world who have expressed their sympathy and sent their best wishes for his recovery".

The statement was released a day ahead of the race driver's birthday.

Ferrari, Schumacher's former driving team, said fans planned to hold a "silent" vigil outside his hospital on Friday.

Ferrari spokesman Renato Bisignani told the BBC that local Ferrari clubs from France and Italy would travel on buses to Grenoble for the tribute.

Mr Bisignani said people were being encouraged to dress in red and bring flags, as "a sign of closeness to Michael Schumacher, done in a very respectful way".

But the spokesman insisted that the event was not about promoting the Ferrari brand or its clients.

"We will make sure we remain sensitive at this difficult time," he said.

Michael Schumacher retired from F1 for a second time in 2012.

He won seven world championships and secured 91 race victories during his 19-year career.

The driver won two titles with Benetton, in 1994 and 1995, before switching to Ferrari in 1996 and going on to win five straight titles from 2000.

He retired in 2006 but managed to recover and made a comeback in F1 with Mercedes in 2010.

After three seasons which yielded just one podium finish, he quit the sport at the end of last year.

Intex Announces India's First Octa Core Phone at Cheapest Price

Homegrown handset maker Intex today launched India's first octa-core processor-powered device, Aqua Octa, priced at Rs 19,999. 

The company had announced its strategic alliance with chipmaker MediaTek in November last year to bring the device in the Indian market.

Octa-core processor will enable the handset to offer speed of 1.7 GHz, enabling better user video and gaming experience.

The dual SIM handset features a six-inch HD display and is powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

It also has dual cameras (13 megapixel camera and 5MP back camera), 16GB internal memory and 2GB RAM. It also offers 5GB cloud memory along with 2300mAh battery.

"With the True Octa Core processor, Intex has achieved another industry first by bringing the fastest 6-inch Android smartphone ever for the technically savvy customer," Intex Technologies Business Head (Mobile) Sanjay Kumar Kalirona said.

Intex added eight models to its Aqua series of smartphones last year.

While the device will be available for sale on online store Snapdeal from today, it will be sold across 40,000 retail outlets, Intex Squares (exclusive retail stores), hypermarkets and other e-commerce portals from January 15.
