Accounting Clerkt Job Description by San Jose Construction Co In:The Accounting Assistant will provide accounting support to CFO, Controller, and Senior Accountant in areas to include: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and Insurance management.  The Accounting Assistant will work with a group of friendly and professional co-workers and gain valuable general accounting and business experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Assist with processing vendor invoices in an accurate and timely manner using American Contractor.Assist with set up of new vendor accounts per SJC’s guidelines.Assist with vendor discrepancies.Assist with management of all Subcontractor Insurance for compliance with SJC/Client requirements.Assist with monthly progress billings to Owners.Data entry and filing of completed projects.Assist with Payroll data entry. Provides clerical support and general assistance (i.e. filing, copying, backup coverage, etc.) as needed. Assist CFO, Controller and Senior Accountant as needed.

Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Accounting and/or relevant experience.Basic knowledge of Accounting Principals.Excellent verbal and written communication.Self-starter with strong work ethics and willingness to learn.Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are essential.Knowledge of Construction is a plus.Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and SJC personnel.
